Heidi has a unique combination of a strategic military perspective and an everywoman's viewpoint on the lapses of national security posed by legal attacks on intelligence operatives.  The danger to national security is not confined to political back rooms and policy panels, it is real and tangible to every citizen's everyday life.  Heidi's cause is to narrow the gap between private citizens and the accountability our elected officials must be held to.  She hopes to convey through the medium of this website why citizens across the country need to be concerned for the massive vulnerabilities in our national security.

Heidi comes from a proud tradition of military service in her family, though she's the first female to serve in uniform.  One grandfather was a Seabee, the other was Army Infantry - both in WWII.  He father and uncle was Navy, she went Army, and her younger brother is a Marine.  Her husband was an Army engineer and her brother-in-law was Air Force.  Inter-service ribbing is a serious sport in her household!

Heidi  enlisted in the US Army as a 17-year old freshman in college.  She went to boot camp at Fort Dix and was assigned to the 84th Division in Milwaukee, WI.  She served simultaneously in the US Reserves and ROTC until her graduation from Marquette University.  She received a BA degree in International Affairs, with a Minor in Military Science and a Specialty in Soviet Politics.  She went on active duty as an AG officer, and attended OBC at Fort Ben Harrison and Airborne School at Fort Benning, before being assigned to the 7th Signal Brigade in Germany.  She served the remainder of her active military service overseas.

Since her separation from military service, Heidi has remained active in politics and veteran's issues.  Her passion and forte have always been national security and sovereignty issues.  She became a well-known milblogger and editorialist in 2005.  She also co-founded the website GuardtheBorders.com.  More recently, she was a founding member of the Gathering of Eagles in 2007, and in 2008 she was a grassroots director for the presidential campaign of Congressman Duncan Hunter.

Heidi is the Co-founder of StandWithIntelligence.com and also serves as the Senior Editor, Publisher, and Webmaster of the website.
