My motivations are simple: there are no political issues that matter as much as our national security. All else pales in comparison.
What does a public option health care plan matter if emboldened and enabled terrorists rampage through our towns and cities?
What does gay marriage or educational vouchers or welfare or vaccinations or taxes or housing markets or election campaigns matter if our nation is unsecure and terrorized by radicals hell-bent on destroying our way of life?!
Will anyone want to debate the details of a 2,000 page legislative healthcare monstrosity when IEDs start appearing on our roadsides or WMDs are smuggled in over our borders? The fact that we will be attacked again is not a quibble about "IF", it is a cold-blooded "WHEN".
The War on Terrorism is not a euphemism, it is a long, hard struggle against a hateful and destructive ideology directly opposed to our American ideals. The war on terrorism is not clean, neat, and swift. Thank God we have men and women willing to fight this war by any means necessary. I directly credit them with keeping us safe and secure for the past eight years since 9/11. So how dare we turn on them now and hunt them with more vigor than we've displayed hunting and destroying our sworn enemies?!
The War on Terrorism is the ultimate healthcare*!
